Hear The Children Crying….

Posted in The World At Large on May 25, 2006 by Queen Ebong

crying childChildren on the streets

The situation of children in the world today is something everyone should give a thought on.

Certainly we all know the children are the future leaders of tomorrow, but tell me what is the future of a child when he has no clothes to wear and no food to eat, no shelter above his head and he is roaming on the streets with no education?

There are so many children out there who are helpless and someone them without hope for a better tomorrow, some of them have died as time passed on due to suffering.

UNICEF gives food to children

The coming of UNICEF has been a miracle to these children because they have helped them with clothes and shelter, food, immunisation, protection, health, and so many other things which are too numerous to mention.

Some children have seen the light while some are still waiting to see the light.

If only these children could get enough basic and social ammenities. Children are vulnerable to all sorts of things, they are easily affected by any disaster, they are incapable of taking care of themselves at their tender age.

All these children on the streets suffer from malnutrition and some of them are even living with the deadly HIV/AIDs, yet they have no access to any form of treatment.

Their condition should be put into consideration as I know UNICEF is definitely not getting across to ALL children that are in this condition.

Certainly the resources of UNICEF is sometimes limited as they cant reach out to all the children that are in this condition.

I beseech ye that are able to reach out, visit charity homes, orphanage homes and give children you see on the streets whatever you can to make their day brighter.

You can surely put a smile on their Angelic faces.
God rewards a cheerful giver.

Dont Use Your Mobile Phone While Driving

This issue has become a global thing, people now use their mobile phones while driving not thinking of the safety factor.

A teenager died in a car crash while she was answering a phone call as she was driving, the pictures are too gory and I cant afford to post them here.

Certainly if you miss a call, it will save your life but an accident may not.

PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR MOBILE PHONES WHILE DRIVING, ITS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN COST YOU YOUR LIFE.

Posted in The World At Large on May 18, 2006 by Queen Ebong

Cross River state has been known for its vast tourist attractions. Its a state that has been know to Europen Sailors far back 15th century, its a state that has been inhabited for more than 2000 years.

During the slave trade era, many slaves passed through Cross River state sea ports.

Many competetive football mathes first began in Calabar. It was a place where first Monorail was first experienced in Nigeria. The first general hospital was in Calabar.

The first inspector general of the Nigerian Police Sir Luis Edet is an indegene of Cross River State.

Women vs Men (Opposites Attract)

Posted in The World At Large on May 16, 2006 by Queen Ebong

I will start with the women. In our society today, women are believed not to have some influencial positions in the society. Most women have made it so far as to become senators and they have also made it in the world of history.
Take for example Dora Akunyili the Director General of National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has made history by successfuly eradicating the production of fake drugs.

Dora

Prof. Akunyili’s educational career started with her passing the First School Leaving Certificate with Distinction in 1966, and the West African School Certificate (W.A.S.C.) with Grade I Distinction in 1973 (both in Nigeria), which earned her the Eastern Nigerian Government Post Primary Scholarship and the Federal Government of Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarship respectively. It is remarkable that throughout her high school career, Dora Akunyili was always first in her class - a record that has never been broken in the school to date.

She got her B.Pharm (Hons) in 1978 and P.hD in 1985, both at University of Nigeria Nsukka (U.N.N.). Prof. Akunyili won the best student award in the school of Pharmacy in her very first year in the school and the Vice Chancellor’s Postgraduate and Research Leadership prize in Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences for 1984/85 and 1985/86 academic Sessions.

She was promoted to the rank of a Professor in October, 2000 by the same University.

There are other women in this country Nigeria who has also made history but men have refused to acknowledge the fact that women can also play their roles.

The men how ever think they are the only ones in the world that have the ability to rule and be great and also make an image for themselves, but we all know the saying that goes “What a man can do, a woman can do better”. If a man can be a president of a country and ruke that same country, a woman can do that job better than him.

There is also another saying that goes “behind every successful man, there is a woman” I agree with that saying cos every rich man today definitely have a woman behind their success.

Sometimes I wonder why some men believe women’s places should be in the kitchen and in the home only giving birth to kids and then they become their sex slave which they come home to when they are done with the days job.

Naturally men and women meet and get attracted to each other before the word love comes in the picture.

When a man and a woman meet and fall in love, there are bound to be challenges as their past is likely to affect their present and probably their future. Some fall in lust, just lusting after money or the woman’s body.

Like I said in my post on a topic “Which Group Do You Belong”, I spoke on falling in love and growing in love. Perharps I will use this opportunity to speak clearly on that issue.

Like I said before, when u fall in love, there is a 100% possibility that u will fall out of love and when U grow in love u will grow in love and understanding.
Take for example, u are in a relationship where the man isnt financially stable, no matter how much u claim to love him once u notice his situation as a girl with needs and all u will definitely leave him for someone else. This is what I will call looking for greener pastures.

Indeed when U grow in love, u will grow in understanding and wisdom knowing his problem is temporary and not permanent. I will say this is the period when the test of true love comes along.

I have learnt to control my feelings to someone of the opposite sex, formally I will say I was a victim of “Falling in love”, now that I know better, I’d rather grow in love and understanding with the one I love than to fall for his material possesions.

Back to the topic at hand now, I was speaking about Men and Women b4 I went into talkin about me.
Love should be based on trust, I believe if u truly love someone U will not believe what people tell u about ur girl/guy cos thats one of the things that destroys a relationship and yes it has destryoyed mine in the past.

I want to belive people are becoming more and more enlightened as the day runs by and they are not constantly makking a fool of themselves by falling a slave to “LUST”

Some men should try and get civilised and stop the attitude of beating up their wives, usuin them as punching bags as if they are in the boxing ring.

They should stop usuin women as their sex slaves as women are very influential people in the society(if only most of them were sent to school when they were much younger).

I no conclude that men should now see women in equal light as they see their fellow male colleagues.

Women are very FRAGILE, Handle them with care. I rest my case!!!

The Weather Has Been Terrible

Posted in Personal on May 15, 2006 by Queen Ebong

Waking up this morning, I noticed it was raining seriously and I am thinking to myself, I have exams and its still raining by 8am?

Well, I finally concluded I was going to school under the rain no matter what happens.

I was lucky the rain managed to reduce before I left for school.

Then came the cold, spreading like wild fire that cant be stopped and there I was shiverring like a wet dog.lol.

Ok, I wrote my exams under cold, came home from school under cold, and right now I still have the damn cold.

Its all good. Such is life anyway.

I wasnt able to update my blog these few days cos my server was down most of the time and I got pissed and left the PC. Thank Goodness the thing is functioning now.

I feel so bored and down today and for some reason I dont know why I am having this countenance today.

It probably is becos of a few things running thru my mind.
