Imagine Paying 25,000 Naira All In The Name Of……

Its funny that people no longer think before they spend.
Sometimes I think its because they have too much of it and sometimes I think they just want to flaunt it to the whole world and show they have it and they can do what they wish when ever they want to not waiting to think if there was something much better they could do with that same money they have decieded to waste.

Ok, let me get everyone out of the dark now.
Foreign artists like Jay Z, Missy Elliot, Ciara, Beyonce, Snoop Dog, Busta Rhymes, Mary J Blige and En Vogue including some Nigerian artists are coming to perform and the gate fee is a whooping sum of 25,000 Naira for a day show and 30,000 Naira for 2 days show and 100,000 for VIP seats.

This left me thinking, if all these people that purchased tickets for this show were asked to use half of that amount used to purchase tickets to feed a hungry child on the streets or put that money in the Church as an offering or tithe they will blindly say no yet they can spend that much to watch some humans sing to their pleasure even if they dont get satisfied.

What is the world turning into?

Rather than feed a hungry child, donate to charity or less priviledged or putting offering in the church or paying tithe, someone would prefer paying such an amount for mere hours of pleasure that will profit him nothing.

Though I know people have a right to do what they wish to do with their hard earned money but I think sometimes they need to have a re-think on how its being spent.

Thats my 2-cents.

You might find my comment surprising, but everyone is entitled to his preferences.

Getting a laptop might be seen as a necessity to you, but to others it might seem as a luxury. Depending on which side of the fence you’re on, you will most likely be for or against such.

Have you thought that some people might have borrowed to attend the concert — or that others who’re attending the concert actually feed the so-called hungry children?

People will always be people and are free to make their choices. On my own end, even if it were 5 naira to attend, I wouldn’t — simply because I hate crowds and would probably prefer reading a novel to listening to any of those artistes.

From an economic point of view, these are highly-demanded personalities, and the combined costs should cover the total cost of paying for the performance. Let’s look at it this way — there are over 7 musicians. Assuming they’re only 7, you’d be paying 3500 for each, which isn’t too much, considering the caliber of people performing.

Having them all together, the price should even be higher. That’s just my viewpoint… ;)

    90% of Nigerians are GIGO.

Western copycats who like to fool themselves in posing and posturing over trivialities and vanities without values and virtues to the advancement of our society. And they will now tell you that the proceeds would be for charity and that would be another ploy.

    Well said my dear.

    God bless.

    nicely stated big gal

I am so happy to have you on ma homepage so google can provide me with a straight copy of your new blog entries

    by the way

up to everyone who says she aint right

what she is saying is quite right

    but , you know

    you can;t judge …. @ queenzy

    why ?

because many people have given to charity

    more than enough self

best thing to do for hungry people now is TO ADOPT

    adopt hungry children

give a family a huge sum in a year

who doesn;t wanna enjoy the money he/she worked for

    don’t get me wrong o

I can pay such a huge amount for something .. but not for a Jay z show … sorry , they aint worth that much from me ….

If it was a BILL GATE PRESENTATION .. then , I might consider , or a SHELL/MICROSOFT JOB FAIR

but for silly shows and to watch beyonce shake her DIRTY BOOTY ( that the whole world has seen over and over again )

Thank you , I might as well download it with free p2p softwares .. cheers!

But for every other people , they prefer to be @ such shows … so , we can leave em be …

I see it a good thing to enjoy the money you worked for , more like spending that money on a car

, You also have a point , but how many of hungry kids . do you know thier history or how they ended up in such position they are right now ?

    you don’t know

some people’s parents are the main cause of thier wahala

their parents dropped out for thier own reason , thier father was a drunkard , thier mother was an idiot , a prostitude

so …… tough luck for em

besides , in Nigeria , you see poor people giving birth every 1 year like animals .. that’s just outrageous

It;s even so hard to help people in Nigeria .. if you give someone 10 naira .. next day , it;s either they jazz you up , or thieves pay you a welcome visit … or anything of such

so why use ma philantrophy to cause troubles for maself …

I won’t judge people who spend THIER OWN MONEY , so also I won;t discourage people from giving

as for me … I won;t pay 1 naira to watch beyonce shake rubbish and see her pants running up & down the stage .. thank you !
